About the author

Holding BSEE and MSEE degrees and being an IEEE member, patent technical consultant Allen King worked for IBM as a design and development engineer for 20 years. While there, his inventions and patent filings earned him the first and the second invention plateau awards. Since he retired from IBM in 2003, he has been associated with Kunzler Bean & Adamson, a well-known patent law firm in Utah, practicing patent application drafting and prosecution for its clients under the mentorship of patent attorney Scott Thorpe. 

In the past fifteen-plus years, King has successfully patented many inventions, including those of his own. Unlike most other patent practitioners, he has made accurate and precise patent drawings himself. To date, he has a dozen patents issued in his name for his high-tech and non-high-tech inventions, plus six other inventions published in IBM Technical Disclosure Bulletin. Besides IBM, corporations such as Twitter in San Francisco, Xyratex in the U.K., and others acquired most of his high-tech patents.
